The current Level 2 Physical Intervention course does not teach you how to safely take someone to the floor. As a result you could be faced with insurance and legal claims, job loss or even a prison sentence!
This course is for those professionals, who as part of their job role, may need to detain an individual to either prevent harm to themselves or to others.
This includes (but not limited to):
- Door Supervisors/ Security Staff
- Enforcement Officers (Civilian)
- Hospital & Nursing Staff
- Detention Officers
- Door Supervisors
The course content includes (but not limited to):
- A refresher of the level 2 Physical Intervention qualification
- Health & Safety Risks
- Legal issues
- Pain compliant techniques
- Approved locks
- Relocation to the floor
- Relocation from the floor
This course has been approved and Risk Assessed for use within the Security Industry by the SIA, approved by the NHS and the Care Sectors.
A Level 2 (Advanced) qualification in Physical Intervention certificate will be received by those delegates who successfully complete the course.
This course can be taught as a standalone course, however, we recommend that this course is taught in conjunction with the “Endorsed Handcuffing Course” course over a 2 day period where the 2 courses complement each other.

Our courses are open to ALL applicants that meet the following criteria:
Aged 18 years or over
Have a Literacy/English level to at least a Level 1 standard – this will be determined in the initial assessment
UK Nationals: Passport + 2 proofs of address (not older than 3 months)
Non-UK/EU Nationals: Passport/Home Office Documents. 2 proofs of address (not older than 3 months)
